You can always buy the individual hard bound books later. A collection of books produced by the surrealist artist Edward Gorey in the mid 19 hundreds. I wish the had fixed this simple issue.īut if your goal is to simply read Gorey and look at the art, then this is a good investment since it’s fairy cheap and comes with a good selection of stories. (2) Since Gorey’s artwork switches from portrait to landscape layout, sometimes you’d have to flip the book sideways to read the text. (1) The printing and page quality could be better. There are a few downsides to getting this book though. It even includes popular stories that were released on their own hardbound editions. This follow-up to the darkly humorous Amphigorey is wittier, more macabre, and more wondrous than ever. Amphigorey collects fifteen of Edward Gorey’s stories into a single 192 page book. If you’re looking to get a good sense of what Edward Gorey‘s art and writing is all about, then this book is for you.
